You're missing the point here - the last tackles, speaking out of turn to the ref etc. are part of the game and part of the game that we have all leant to accept. We may not like these things but we see them week in, week out and don't really show a blatant disrespect for the opposition support.
Rat Boy over-stepped the mark by some considerable distance by flicking the V's at the Leeds fans.
not missing the point at all , im just saying there is a massive over reaction to a childish act
the things we see week in week out you talk off , are they acceptable ?
lets be honest , most leeds fans at the game wouldnt even have seen the 2 fingers would they ??
yes he overstepped the mark i agree , but talk of bans from club and internationals is just stupid
As I said on the other thread re this incident, it's the down side of a precocious young rugby league talent. What he does need is for his coach or an experienced head at Wigan to take him on one side, have a word, tell him to calm down and dont let the arrogant petulance overtake the obvious talent he has. What he did was stupid, but it was done in the emotion of the moment, but the fact that it was seen on national television apparently wont have done him any favours. Sam Tomkins is a talent but I hope the other side of his character is not going to spoil his bright future in the game.

You're comparing two things that shouldn't be compared - what happens in a game when players push the boundaries shouldn't be compared to a player blatantly disrespecting the opposition supporters.
The kind of behaviour that Rat Boy showed was not done in an attempt to sway the ref or get the upper hand during the game and therefore should be dealt with outside the normal disciplinary procedure.
but lets remember the stick he gets , the lad is still a youngster , petulant is probably the word . i just see some people over reacting to this situation.
I wasn't referring to you but, if you insist, what exactly are trying to say here, if you are not making excuses?
I don't think this thread would be half as long as it is, if certain kn0b jockies didn't come on here trying to justify his actions.
I dont think anyone is particularly condoning his actions, what he did was stupid, petulant, but done in the emotion of the moment. I'm a Rhino fan for gawds sake, sat at the end which was the subject of Tomkins's gesture, but I am not wishing to see a witchhunt against him for this. As I said earlier, he needs a word in his ear to tell him to calm down, and if the RFL wish to take action then so be it. None of this detracts from him being a talent, and if the other stuff can be curbed then hopefully that is what we will be talking about in future! And all of this is detracting from what was afterall a lively well contested Cup Final!
You know, if you keep posting the same brain dead poop after I've deleted it several times then you'll find that your RLFans account doesn't work any more - McFld
My "brain dead poop" was in response to the barrage of brain dead threads belitling the acheivments of a superb Wigan side. I have praised Leeds on their outstanding performance in several threads and in my conversations in real life. In short, I treated the idiotic threads with the contempt that they deserve. Your deletions and public critisism has bolstered my point. Cheers.
