Thanks tvoc. Just goes to show that if a team who only won half of their first 20 games and only 64% overall can go on to be champions, how little losing a few games here and there means in the grand scheme of things, and how daft it is to use a team's regular season record to judge their right to be called "the best"!!

I take it this comes from the Bernie Ecclestone/Ferrari school of thought which goes something like:

If my memory is correct, that was the game the week before the Challenge Cup final when Senior got injured, as did someone else who also played in Cardiff and McDermott had a shocker, resulting in him not playing against Hull.

I think McGuire got injured, but was ok to play at Cardiff
