You can play the youngsters and in the short term take some beatings but in lads like Walters and Holroyd who have genuine quality you could potentially have world class quality in a few years.

Or you can keep signing ordinary players like Thompson, Evans, Briscoe, Dwyer etc and the beatings against the big boys will happen forever.

Until they have the bottle to put kids in and give them a chance were kidding ourselves. The only way Leeds can be successful is by promoting the youth. Short term gain for long term gain.

Saints tho are different gravy to the rest and while a couple of other teams can compete with them we can compete with mpst teams and after a 48-0 scoreline its easy to over react.

The kids will get a chance this year but you do also need some experience alongside them especially in the forwards

However having said Id like to see Holroyd given a go

If that experience is nowhere near good enough whats the point? Its quality alongside them you need not experience.

Wrong Christopher, you need quality playing alongside them. That is how we became so good with it previously.

Filling out the squad with experienced nobody's is not the answer, as they just hold the potential back.

I think that’s what he means. You’ve got to balance the youth with quality and experience otherwise it could do more damage than good. Our glory years were built by doing just that

And what quality is available right now?

We can just throw the kids in, we'll get beaten most weeks and people on here will be after their heads after a few games.

It's easy to over react after a walloping by Saints (they will do that to a lot of teams) do I think Bodene Thompson will turn our season around, of course not, do I think it's a great signing (if it happens) not really no, will he do a job - probably.

The injuries are starting to mount up and with the new style of game that the new rules have made it might get worse before it gets better.
