Oh no, he was getting slated on an Internet forum....better not pick him them.

In fact let's not pick any player who gets criticised on here and we'll have nobody left to pick, even in the years we were winning.

That was a small part of the overall point id rather we didnt select someone CLEARLY not fit not anywhere near especially given the overall situation but your pathetic sarcastic response just highlights yer ignorance when blindly defending this Coach.

My post clearly highlights how ridiculous it was to try and add more weight to the damning decision to play Sutcliffe by thinking him getting slated on here is in any way relevant.

Were you in involved in all the medical discussions between the coaching and medical staff with regards to Sutcliffe to be able to tell us that it's solely on McDermott? You clearly have a soft spot for Sutcliffe and never have liked it when others have written off, most likely you have some connection to him that clouds your views in issues regarding him.

Players have to play hurt at times, that's just how the sport goes. We were missing guys that could've played instead so if somebody had to go out jabbed up or strapped up that's just the nature of the game, let's not pretend no other coach is sending out guys with jabs etc that could be better off not playing. Happens all over the league but the way some whine about it you'd think McDermott was the only one who did it. Hypocrisy about the whole situation is that when the likes of Hall, Briscoe, McGuire etc. weren't getting rushed back in near the end end part of the regular season those players got slated for not trying their hardest to get back out there as quickly as possible and people were questioning their desire to get back and help the team. Just another perfect example of how some of the fan base can always find fault and complain either way the club does something, even when it contradicts the early argument they had. "We shouldn't rush players back"....."why aren't the players rushing back to play & help out when we're struggling"

But you have some players who with play at the risk of their own health, Delaney clearly has come back from injury before ready on more than one occasion and now can't string 2 games together. Mario French (former NRL player) played through so many concussions in his career he is now loosing his memory.

Exactly Jjb is another & there are many more across the sport.

I'm not sure how you decide a player is ready to play again after injury. If they are passed as being medically fit to return, how can you judge they are not ready? The only way to test injury is to put it into practise, usually requires playing.

"We shouldn't rush players back"....."why aren't the players rushing back to play & help out when we're struggling"

Absolute rubbish the fact he got stick on here/at games was a very small part of the point being made about the overall situation wrt his selection whilst jabbed up & still in rehab.
As for "having a soft spot clouding my view" absolute BS Delaney is another one used the same way.
Yes i rate Sutty but knowing the "whole situation" helps form my opinion not cloud it & what other Coaches do is A.Irrellevant & B.This happened in regular games where no trophy was at stake nor relegation a factor.
Yes players play hurt but they also need protecting from themselves & imo this wasn't a risk worth taking & even the Coach himself has admitted picking players he shouldn't wrt fitness.
As for yer last paragraph where can you find an example of my hypocrisy wrt selecting injured players?
The ONLY time id even consider selecting a jabbed up player is a Final/relegation decider & even then id expect at least a certain level of fitness not a first game back after months out & very little re-hab.

You only have to watch some of ours warm up to see they aren't ready.

Players do carry injuries, fact of life..Most are minor and controllable in some form..If not, they wont play.
