Way I see it is that Jason Scotland scored 53 goals for Swansea (half of those in division 2) and only went to Wigan for 1.5 million and he's a better player than Beckford. I'd be happy if we got a million for Beckford but where asking for too much!

Yep but he's now in the premieship, Beckford has never proved himself in the championship so think what where asking for him (from what I've heard a couple of million) its too much!

A players value depends on the club he's leaving.

Swansea's turnover wont be anywhere near that of Leeds, so money is tighter. Because we can turn a profit we don't need to sell players to balance the books, hence the fact it takes a larger bid to get a player away from us.

Playing games a bit I think.

Put him on the list and it sends a message to his agent that there really is no more money on the table and see if it'll force him to agree to the existing offer.

Trouble is it also sends a message to other clubs that he may go for silly money.

Taking him off the list now applies more pressure to the player's agent and his suitors.
