I know that was the rumour, but not according to Crosby himself. TBF I'd keep him if we have the chance on the basis that ideally we need so many new signings that we are not going to be able to get players of REAL quality in all the positions required so Crosby appears a player who will 'do a job' for us that presumably won't be breaking the bank wages wise?

Apparently we're interested in signing the Chapelow brothers from Widnes. I don't know much about them, but the only player that's impressed me this season at Widnes is Matt Whitley, he seems the kind of 2nd rower we need.

If widnes go down which is looking very likely the only players I'd hope we look at are Whitley and Inu ,I'd take mellor as well but we already have lolohea and Myler plus Mclellend so can't see us trying to bring in another half back for next year.

I’d hope we are not going shopping in Widnes... If we want another season like this the sign players from other clubs in the same position...

Due to the rumoured contract extensions the salary scale probably won't allow us to make too many changes

To be fair Cas signed Solomona and McMeekan from London when they got relegated and Wigan signed Bateman from Bradford who were both relegation fodder, so I'm sure they'll be a few Widnes players attracting interest from some of the better SL teams.

IMO Matt Whitley would be a great signing should Widnes get relegated this season (as he's under contract there and would also be able to leave for free if they go down)
Don't be surprised by how many SL clubs will make offers for him though as he is a very talented player

Very talented. But I thought he was Saints bound?

Is that comment about free if down correct? I thought the recent statements made by Beaumont at Leigh made that thought appear to be a myth. At least that is what it sounded he was saying, about been stuck with high earners.

I thought that Beaumont just wanted rid of his high earning players and off their wage bill as Leigh were not in the SL qualifiers and therefor wouldn't have to pay their high contracts for the remainder of the season?

I thought that once a SL club got relegated that all of that clubs players were free agents (Although i'm not certain)
