Yes Marty the effort areas and 3 individuals mentioned were worthy of praise and along with my frustrations on the overall poor quality and lack of any real pressure on our defence, I should have also mentioned these.

I think anyone watching who has been following the game for a long time understood what was happening. Not a game for the casual supporter or non affecianado maybe but a bloody good win, nilling the opposition in a play off game is no mean feat. Because it was the first time it has been 0-0 at ht in PO game speaks volume. We score on average 3 points per half in the last 10 games or so. Nilling us is nothing to be proud of!

I agree the finals series needs a turbo boost of quality though, hopefully the other finalists can put on a show over the weekend. The game in this country needs a good finish to the season given the loss of the WC.

I'm blaming Wigan a bit for last night; they are a suffocating type of team. I thought some of their wrestle in D was dangerous too, lots of attack to the lower legs and bending players into dangerous positions, hands on faces, standing on hands... lots of shithousery going on last night I thought. It was Smith. And I agree, it was Carl Ablett-esque, I thought Smith ran and tackled hard all game. The progress we've made in the last 2 -3 years is very impressive. There's no comparison to the awful pack we had. Everyone got stuck in last night. Not sure how anybody could be negative. The team spirit appears to be excellent.

Leeming needs more minutes at 9 in the next game and I worry that Myler will be targetted with high kicks. Other than that, even if we're gallant losers in the next game I think the season on the whole has been a massive positive and next year providing we have more luck with injuries we should be in contention for silverware.

I see a lot of criticism of Myler dropping a couple of kicks, but apart from a couple monster bombs in the 2nd half, he was faultless. The improvement he's made in that position is remarkable considering he'd never played there before this season.

leeming rarely puts people through gaps and quite often picks the wrong pass. hooker is the one position I worry about. I hope johnson, who I rate highly, kicks on

That 1st high kick he dropped was spiralling and moving everywhere. Anyone couldve dropped that, cant blame Myler for that. Errors happen in games its how you defend them that counts.

I thought our Defence was excellent last night they never looked like scoring and i thought Newman & Briscoe on our right edge were class. With the ball we struggled admittedly but we won.
Also how poor has Bateman been this Season? He's fast becoming a parody of his former self & that Harry Smith is way over rated not a patch on Dodd or Lewis.

Am I the only one that thought Miks tackle was shoulder to shoulder? The replays the sky team showed were rubbish and never showed contact with head. If he would have made contact with his head I think it would gave come off!
