I personally would like to see the likes of taylor and eardley at oldham and lambert from bristol rovers brought in now then it would reduce the initial outlay if we do get promotion as all these would be decent in the championship imo.

Yeah agree, we should try bring in players who can play comfortably at the next level.. we shall see..

It's a weaker squad than last season's with Douglas, Delph, Richardson and Lucas leaving and Sodje not signed up. The only ins are Kisnorbo, Crowe and Higgs.
If you look at squad size we've got cover in almost every position, 4 strikers, several midfielders, 4 centrebacks and new keeper but the quality of the squad appears lesser than what it was last season but i've not seen any of the new signings so could be suprised.
However Grayson did bring Brad Johnson back in and got Kilkenny going, wonder if he can do anything for other 'forgotten' players like Showumni, Hughes, Huntington, Prutton?
We could do with a midfield enforcer to break things up in midfield as we can lose out here from time to time and some cover for right full back and if Beckford leaves then striker who gets 20+ goals a season.

Need a holding Midfielder now Delph's on his way. Hope the fee is above 6 million, that would be unheard of for League 1. Pre season would seem to indicate that SG has got us playing well. Roll on saturday!

I've heard the deal is closer to 3 million plus theres bonus's and clauses that take it upto 5 million.

Even if it is that its good money for him

Then possibly the player that Pappa smurf was alluding to in his last paragraph was a striker to replace Beckford and not a midfielder to replace Delph?

Apparently on SkySports News they are saying £7.5m, IF that is the case then it's a very good deal for Leeds United, Hopefully all the cash doesn't go into buying Thorp Arch back...
