Is Sir Kev starving the likes of Petrou of game time so he’ll get sick of it, find another club and free up some cap space for a big hard Barrie Mac type prop? Time will tell but to have an overseas player (and prop) in the squad and not play them against a big Warrington side doesn’t make sense.
Not sure but got told Peteru had an injury so wasn't playing for that reason. Don't know if it's true or not or what injury was. In truth I don't think it would've made a scrap of difference.
I certainly think the above is the case with certain contracted fringe players but not Peteru at this stage.
Keep the faith, anyone who would have thought we would win the first game must be in dream land. We were taken apart from by a pack which verged on near violence. Their pack play on the edge, some of their tackles were borderline at best, I thought the ref played to their crowd at times, However saying that we need to be smarter we also need to pay the ref, we also need to be more voilent in the tackle, we will learn, dont worry we will get better, we are playing under a new coach, so we need to learn and adapt to his methods, KW is not yet match fit, Parcell was to me the biggest let down, he is in his last season I hope his head is not on the plane home, and we can make changes in the pack, next week we will see some changes and we will see a better performance, we may not win but it will get better , keep the faith
I’m not sure there will be nany cganges next week, think he will stick with this line up for a 2-3 more games , barring injuries, he then will gave a better idea in who deserves the shirt, i don’t think knee jerk reactions will help anything, its nif like we were beaten 50-0 or anything they had a hot 20 mind befire galf time and that won them the game, last years side would have just bent over and given up. Last night was a disappointment was hoping for more, but its a ling seadon improvnent over next 2-3 weeks is what we need.
Last year Warrington won 2 in the first 6 games and ended up playing in both finals. Though I don’t think we have the squad to make a final this year, I expect a similarly slow start with improvement made after 6 or 7 weeks playing together.
You may be right but what is the evidence for your view? We can’t effect any big improvement without the pack getting some field position and controlling the middle better, end of for me. I’m not convinced we have the props to do that this year, and we’re already playing back rowers in the front row again.

Well, if Peteru isn’t in the first team squad when fit then he’s yet another gonner for 2020. Mullaly looks shot too if we’re playing Merrin over him. There is no point retaining senior squad players like this with Holroyd, Mustapha, Dupree etc coming through.
Now that the dust has settled, the result is pretty much what we should have expected, but the performance was very disappointing.
There wasn’t much intelligence shown with or without the ball, and technique was poor all round. We will struggle to go forward against bigger packs but we knew this before last night. What we didn’t do and I expected us to, was show some sharp with the ball, and draw in players before passing. We looked dumb.
The rebuild was always a 2-3 year thing, and we are clearly playing some players we would prefer not to, probably to send messages to other in the squad that they need to move on, allowing some space to bring in a metre munching prop.
We will improve in the next few weeks, maybe not enough to get some results against the better teams, but most of all the fans need to see some green shoots otherwise the attendances might suffer from a lack of walk ups.
It’s a fine line between success and failure in sport, but we are still on the wrong side of it at the moment.
If we do not have the power in the pack to produce decent go forward then the coach should change tactics and move the ball wide and play to our strengths ie the backs. In the game the other night Saints moved the ball wide at every opportunity against Wigan and made far more metres than when they went up the middle.
