Going on the Warrington board at the minute provides some comfort. Who will pick up the next available prop, us or them...

Probably them if we are honest.

It's not how much talent you've got, it's what you do with it that counts.

Thinking about the way forwards, I think GH and Agar together should announce that Agar will become DOR at the end of this season, and confirm we are formally starting the process of recruiting a new Head Coach for next season. This will take the sting out of the situation, removing the constant calls for Agar to go because we know he will, and the players should be told that they are all playing for their roles under the new coach or a new contract if out of contract like Austin for example.

Then we can invite applicants, and if the right person becomes available before the end of the season then they can start early. In any case we should know who will be Head Coach next year before the end of this season, and the recruitment can be planned with them as part of the decision making group.

That could work, but there could also be a problem with a lame duck coach like Wigan under Lam last year. Rushing to a new coach could lumber us with a dud on a long-term contract rather than picking the best for the long term. There's no good solution unless someone with real clout could come in just for this season.

This seems a sound plan.Let's not forget we have several players coming out of contract, three of them overseas,so that should give a new coach some wriggle room in bringing in new fresh blood. What may hamper Leeds NRL recruitment is the Dolphins sucking up excess talent,so pickings are likely be thin on the ground.Hopefully we can steer clear of a Kear type of appointment.

What an absolute mess we'v got ourselves in. Too many jobs given to too many people for all the wrong reasons.

Leeds 'DNA'
Jobs for the boys
'Spirit of the Rhinos' manufactured bulls**t

It all needs to stop, the way out of this mess is simple, yet we'v done everything but for years...We need to Hire the best possible people for each specific role, with CV's deeper than just... played for the club or part of the family. That dosnt necessarily need to be a CV at the very highest level of winning trophys, just that theres a clear history of performing well in that role and overseeing impressive results in that role in the past...Watson at Salford, Smith at Huddersfield spring to mind as people getting more out of a group of players than the sum of there parts.

At the risk of sounding repetitive, our u16's coach is the only coach in our whole system with a track record of success and a reputation as one of the best in the country at what he does, thats bloody shambolic for a club our size.

Agar needs to go - think he knows that himself, grew to like him, but his times up. Think the depleted squads actually benefited him in the past, with a fullish squad at his disposal, his limitations have been exposed, some of his decision making has been infuriating.

Long needs to go - Attack is comically bad, criminal that we actually pay him a wage for what we serve up with the ball.

JJB Needs to go - Defence not much better than attack, too much nostalgia, not enough ability.

Walker needs to go - Absolutely useless imo, our players look better at 16 than they do at 18, intakes that hammer everyone at scholorship, struggle regularly once they get to the Academy and Walker.

Thing is a big part of DOR will be recruitment and retention. I am just not convinced Agar scores that well in this area, in particular recent calls.

Donaldson - 2 year extension
Briscoe - retained a further year
Thompson - 2 year contract
Austin - was let go by wire
Sezer - hudds didn’t seem overly keen to keep him
Tetevano - marquee money for a prop who isn’t in the top 5 performing props in the competition

For me it is a massive summer and off season, we have players off contact and others we need to be talking to about leaving early if they are agreeable.

Briscoe - gone
Austin - gone
Sezer - if agreeable gone
Martin - gone
Mellor - gone
Dwyer - gone
Tetevano - if agreeable gone
Prior - I think he will retire and I have no issue with that given his age and what we need from our props
Donaldson - if agreeable gone
Mustapha - gone
Thompson - gone

Does Agar from his previous conduct with some of those players have the ability to make those decisions and be in charge of that element of the club. For me he doesn’t, he hasn’t shown any real ability to select the right players or characters.

Shane Flanagan anybody if he would take it,although sounds keen to stay in the NRL.
Probably even tougher on the players than Furner so would upset the comfort zone and could prove another disaster.
Would we want someone with a tainted history in the sport as well.
The assistant coach at Penrith is getting good reports and appears to be wanted by Wayne Bennett as his assistant at the new NRL club the Dolphins.
Sounds like he could turn out to be another Justin Holbrook, but again would he be tempted.

Exactly, just utter fluff piece rubbish, everyones now just a couple of items shy and yet again at the bottom of the league.

A better idea would of been to not burn anything, but maybe, assemble a squad with 6 actual props in it,instead of a load of undersized 'middles' or something like, devise a gameplan more sophisticated than throwing Dwyer on and hoping for the best.
