Outsider looking in, Smith is coaching a team with very little basic structure to fall back on when under pressure. Last season he tried to play expansive rugby from anywhere on the pitch worked for a short period but the percentages for consistent success is low.

The likes of Wigan, Saints and Catalan have great basic defensive structures with controlled attacks, it looks as though Warrington have joined the party as well this season.

Leeds play too much off the cuff rugby which can break down quickly and they end up under pressure. Hull KR and Salford are similar but perhaps do it a little bit better because of team work, Leeds don't look like a "togetherness team" and Rohan Smith is responsible for that.

I agree. But your last comment is interesting because I feel like every pre-season in the recent past we’ve had to put up with culture chat, where they do a song and a dance about how they’re developing some culture “spirit of the rhinos” or some other mentality related blurb. This pre-season we had Cameron smith rabbiting on about colours, how certain players were this colour and that colour based on how they responded to different types of communication.
Every pre-season we sit through this bollox and then the real business starts and they serve up rubbish and are mid-table. What’s the point?
Saints and Wigan don’t have to do a song and a dance about culture, it just is.
The club has got lost in the mythology of the “golden generation” and keep trying to recapture that spirit.
Just f*cking move on. It’s been nearly a decade.
