Understand the argument with regard to the club not wanting to spend because of the financial pinch, but let me offer a counterpoint. When (hopefully by the start of next season) crowds return, there will be a huge appetite to watch live sport. If the club sprinkle a bit of stardust on the squad now they might reap dividends in terms of bums on seats. I think there is an opportunity to be grasped if they are brave. Then again, it's not my money.

Take your point and I hope you're right (it's not a strategy that hasn't been used in the past).However, I reckon people will be that desperate to see a bit of live 'quality' rugby league that we'd get decent crowds anyway (elland road will take some no doubt).. I just think that players turn up in super league that no one has ever heard of and go on to be quality players. I'd never heard of ava before we bought him and wakey have got a monster in their second row that would massively improve us without paying mental money for a 'famous' player.

Wigan are spending £500k on salaries more than Leeds?? Nonsense. Field really isn't the super star many on here seem to be making him out to be. He's played less than 20 first grade games. SOL, Flower, Joe Burgess all leaving. Tommy L and George Burgess could also be off. Bateman, Singleton, and Field in. Their squad isn't as amazing some seem to think.

G Burgess (Marquee) and he's not gone anywhere yet. Hastings (Marquee). Bateman might well be on more than the previous two. French is staying after Wigan fight off NRL interest to keep him Those four alone is big money. Field doesn't even come into it On the other hand Leeds haven't even spent the Merrin money. I think it is entirely reasonsble to suggest they are out spending Leeds in a big way at the moment. But we haven't signed anybody yet. Hope that changes.

Absolutely correct. There is no chance Wigan aren’t significantly outspending us. Like you say in retaining French & Hastings then G Burgess (Marquee) and Bateman coming in will be a huge amount of cap, add to that Field.... they may release a couple but that’s a very significant spend and during the biggest financial crises the game has faced which is quite eyebrow raising. Strong favourites for the title imo next season are Wigan

I think he’s got too big an ego for our club, especially with the mentality that Kev is trying to build. Great player though
