Just my thoughts on what team might be like next year, seen tonight that our recruitment is going to be kept too a minimum so I only expect 1 new signing for next year, Hopefully a big name prop. I personally want Luke Thompson in our 13 shirt.

Ava Prior and L Thompson is a tasty prospect, would deffo have a massive go forward and solid in defence

1-9 picks itself at the moment, (although we need Hurrell at 3 and Newman at 4 next year) but I'd then have:
10. A N Other (Fifita / Sims / Thompson...)
11. Mellor (needs to have a good season next year)
12. Martin
13. Prior (not a prop for me - again)

14. Dwyer
15. Oledski
16. Smith
17. Holroyd

.. then the rest.

Going to be fierce competition for bench spots next year and one or two noses out of joint I suspect.

That pack is starting to look more like it, and with another few 100-110kg forwards available on the bench. I know we all like to see Leeds play a bit but plenty of big guys can pass the ball, you just need the right quality of player.

Such a shame we can't have Ward in that first 13, that really would make us look something.

Is that a top-4 team then? Maybe. Still think we're 1-2 star players short of a real top side but the foundation is emerging..

The key to recruitment and our chances for next season is the quality of the prop we bring in.Something similar to ava would undoubtedly improve us but if we got a genuine class starting prop I think we will improve significantly. Of the players mentioned I'm not so sure.Could we realistically get thompson? Is fifita knackered? Is simms the type of forward we want or is he more like prior?

Think the rumour is that his partner can't settle so they are looking to come home.if I had to put money on it I'd say the rumour was a nonsense.

I think someone has taken the fact he was on his own earlier in the year as his mrs couldn’t travel due to the Rona and manufactured a half truth into a full blown rumour.

He didn’t have a proper preseason there, his mrs was delayed getting there but is now and I can’t see him back this year as he’s got a genuine chance to make a big impact next year with hopefully the bulldogs sorting their salary cap out.

Time will tell, he’s exactly the calibre of player we SHOULD be targeting.

He is, but for the reasons you state above I think he is the least likely of the players we have been "linked" with.
