Incorrect on many levels.

He made as many tackles as Kylie without missing any.

Where have I proclaimed Ali as one of the hardest workers???

A career in journalsim could be on the cards with that kind of reading into what someone quips!

I hope your column will be as enlightening as Schoies in Star, those sort of heights aren't un-reachable you know.

On on a side, Ali made no miss tackles, took the ball up plenty and made good metres. Would you be foolish enough to state that he didn't work hard on Friday???

Possibly the pressure we had to deal with in the 1st half.
One stat I would be interested in is the no. of sets of six with the completion rate but that is never available.
Good to see so many players with 100% completion rates.

That surprised me as well. I could only put it down to more players involved in the tackle given that the carries by each team were comparable and Leeds conceded fewer penalties and errors.

Your comment was that his tackling stats were surprising given his reputation for being lazy.

In isolation (which is how you brought them into the debate), they're not surprising at all - he attempted the least number of tackles of any forward bar a kid making his debut who had limited game time.

If you want to bring his general overall work rate into the equation by including his efforts with ball in hand that's fine, but it doesn't alter the facts as they relate to his defensive efforts.

33% more carries and two more attempted tackles than Lauitiiti would suggest otherwise, based on this game alone.

If a player holds his position in the defensive line then he cannot decide how many tackles he makes, all he can do is tackle anyone who runs into his space (tackle from marker exempt).

Or boost his tackle count by being second/third man in when the tackle is pretty much complete (see your avatar)?

Sometimes sunshine quality is better than quantity.

Look at what Ali did with less carries!

Plenty more metres and got past the advantage line on average.

So should we question the impact that Kylie has with ball in hand?
