I remember when everyone was crowing about Hull's recruitment last year, but they're very average.
People complain that Lui is slow, but Sneyd has to be the slowest halfbacku I've ever seen.
I'd much rather we take the time to get the right player, and the right person, than just sign the first NRL player that becomes available.

Who knows which players we might finish up with, probably no one mentioned on here so far. Some of our best signings have come out of nowhere, or so it seemed.

KR have announced Sims. Good signing for them but as I posted earlier not quite what we needed

Sneyd has a fantastic kicking game, alongside a good tactical RL mind. I don't rate him, at all, but I can see he offers a hell of a lot more than Rob Lui. Who offers us absolutely nothing.

Can he run?
Can he pass?
Does he organise? Can he organise?
Can he kick?
Does he look fit?

It's a no.

God, well he helped save us from the drop - but yeah lets give him a kicking.

Hes no world beater, but we seemed more than keen to trade him for Lolohea a couple of years back.

Lui isn't bad at all, he has great hands and is pretty chunky in D when he needs to be. However his limitations stop him being suitable for a side genuinely wanting to compete at the top of the table IMO.

He was a signing of the times, in a situation where we were keen to offload Lolohea. We've made some poor signing decisions over the past couple of years to be fair - but it's easy to forget just how deep a hole we were in, and survival was the main focus rather than winning titles.

Any Recruitment is about signing players and people that are a better fit for your future than the ones you already have. Rob Lui fit that category when we signed him, but now we are in a different place. If we were looking to sign a new 6, to improve on the current one, he wouldn't be it. That doesn't make him a bad player, just not the one we need for the future.

I know this forum is a bit of a wish list but doesn't Lui have another 12 months to go on his contract?
No use moaning about a 6 when we have greater priorities in other areas that we can do something about
