Perhaps because our main man is running 7 marathons in 7 days to raise money to support one of our heroes and therefore he’s a bit tied up at the minute.

If we don’t sign anyone in the off season, this year he gets a free pass from me anyway.

Well said. Perspective is much needed.
If Ava is homesick then we let him go with our best wishes. Can't believe people think by
Holding him to ransom, that actually makes us a more attractive club to foreign players!

If Ava leaves then we might be stuck in the mud if we cant bring in at least another prop to do a job for a year or two

What all this underlines is the importance of developing our own (and also recruiting) top British talent. NRL players, excellent though they generally are, will always have an eye on their homeland, hence they are always a gamble.

Apparently we've could have sealed the deal for Zane Tetevano that's what being said on twiter but the source is very hit and miss. Would be very good signing if true like.
