Tight as a camels whats-it in a sandstorm especially after he split with The Beatles and formed Wings.
Theres a story in Denny Laines biog that he tells where McCartney had bought the farm on The Mull of Kintyre and wanted to go back to a carefree world with none of the trappings of rich-ness, live a simple life,e at vegetables all that jazz.
He convinced his new band that they'd love it on the farm, get to know nature again, live a simple life - so they followed him up there.
When they arrived they found a derelict farm that hadn't been lived in for nearly a hundred years, no drains, water from a nearby burn, no gas or electric, nothing on the floors but dirt and bare stone walls, McCartney and wife had the two empty roomed house, the rest of the band were given a barn with one wall missing and told to doss down there.
They soon tired of nagging McCartney for warm water and a lend of a generator for a bit of power, so they took some chalk and drew a picture of a television set on a wall and sat around all night staring at it, every now and again someone would get up to turn it over and draw another picture on it - the next day he drove them to the nearest town and booked them into a hotel.
