Apparently, the loans actually may put us in a better position in terms of P & S/FFP due to amortisation.

If you buy a player for 25m on a 5 year deal, the fee is spread across the length of the contract, so the value of the player depreciates by 5m every year. However, if you get relegated after 1 year and the value of that player drops, to say, 10m, if you sell him, you will take a 10m hit on FFP, as opposed to only 5m if you loan him out.

Although, this obviously makes it difficult for you to keep hold of any players you may want to keep.

We're just going to have to bite down on the gum shield and get through to September, and hope we have something resembling a competitive squad.

Don’t these financial rules only come and bite you if it’s ‘x’ loss over 3 years, meaning we can go for broke and spend/lose what we like, so long as we get out of this division within 3 seasons?

Nope. The rules are very complicated. Hence why they're so hard to enforce.

The same person who said that Sinnistera wasn't travelling to Birmingham, has said Villa are close to hijacking Everton's Harrison deal.

And you can bet your bottom dollar that the EFL would make a point of enforcing them against us…..they’d take great glee is doing so as well

I get most the loans regarding FFP but this one doesn't make sense, surely we won't be making a loss on him?

There's also the relegation wage decrease of 50% 60% that was also in the contract, so the release clause is probably the compromise.

doubt it. standards awful. farke has done a marvelous job in 5 weeks. very organised but simply not enough quality. need to get players in

Pity he didn`t go to Villa and we get Archer on loan in return.
In any event we need 4 or 5 players in before the window closes and that includes a LB, 2 midfielders, a 10 and a striker.
Who they are god only knows.
