Re: New Head Coach - who's it going to be? : Mon May 20, 2019 6:47 pm
IMHO The club can't be allowed to drift. Agar has said he did not expect the role and does not want it, he will only be able to continue if we beat London or possibly Wakey. If we lose both we will be at best bottom with Hull KR with games coming up v saints, Wigan and Catalan, 3 more defeats. Would Caddick / GH allow this to just roll on and sleepwalk into the championship.
In all businesses you need a plan and someone driving that plan, having Agar just holding the fort is not acceptable.
sinfield has put in place a new model and said after Furner was sacked that the model is still the right one. That is him as DOR, agar as head of development or whatever and a head coach and an assistant coach. At present the model is not fulfilled and if Sinfield thinks it's right he needs to recruit a new head coach and assistant.
This holding position with Agar is only acceptable if someone is lined up for next year like Powell. I very much doubt this is the case.
As others have said it is likely a character like wane will want to control things himself.
In Sinfield's interview with Carney he said he would agree to go if the club no longer wanted him around, that seemed an odd thing to say unless it appears to him a genuine possibility.
If we pick up quickly Agar may get to the end of the season but for mine there is a crunch coming, agar, ford, Marshall are not the right men for this big task. I would not be surprised to see Sinfield gone soon if don't get going soon.
Personally, I don't think it's acceptable to just drift with Agar , we need a coach to get into this squad and get what they want embedded now.
