It seems that way to me too. Players are choosing other clubs to us, that’s obviously saying something. Taking the cheap route again and going with low offers. Guaranteed Tetevano will go to Catalans, not sure how they can fit him under their Cap but why would he choose Leeds when you can have the South of France? I trust Agar and Sinfield but they don’t half scare me with their laid back policies. The Giants are putting together a very strong squad as are others. At this rate we won’t be any where near the top 8. I sometimes hate being a Rhinos fan it’s the Same with United aswell, same policies. Surely if we are returning to training on the 4th, you would want new players to get as much as possible a full pre season or is that just me?
Without a doubt we’d want them early. Which is why we look to be struggling with recruitment

maybe more arsenal nice ground cheaper players --- never been ridsdalesque since signing half of widnes
If we were to lose out on Tetavano the cosy and maybe arrogant assumption that we are the biggest club in SL would be in tatters. After having a year to narrow in on target, creating cap space by allowing Merrin, Cuthbo, Crosby, Ward, and now if rumours are to believed, Ava to depart, the completion of the Tetavano signing should be a formality. Catalan may the sun, but we have 8 SL titles, the challenge cup and figurehead of national prominence in the media to boast of. It should be a no brainer for any player, and the decision should be Leeds. I think it will be.

Agreed. Unless we’re in more financial trouble than they’re letting on.
The club may be in a slightly different position to some of our competitors in that we're a more commercially run enterprise, and with a huge load of debt owing from the new stadium development. We need to be realistic - we might be able to spend up to the cap, but we may well not be able to match some others when it comes to the marquee extras etc. I don't know for sure but it's not been a wonderful year financially has it?
The other thing is that whereas I'd like Tetevano here (although his past isn't great), you've got to look at this from a professional sportsman's outlook. We all know Leeds is a great club and all that, but a large part of your decision to come halfway across the world will frankly be money. And in that context we're either in the ball park with whatever someone else is willing to pay, or we're toast.
Even Leeds is small fry compared to any NRL club, that's just the reality. The cash, resources, player pools they have at their disposal are another level. A player moving from first grade NRL to SL is not going to feel particularly impressed by the clubs or the media attention etc.
Also, has buying success worked for Warrington? Absolutely not. We need that magic combination of quality players and Leeds culture - let's just see what happens in the coming weeks. All players have agents these days and their job is to get the highest price too.
Leeds retain ava and another prop and they're on for a big push on top 4. Lose ava and dont recruit any middels and its 6-8th and that's with having luck on the injury front regarding props as they're paper thin.
Agree that we can't compete with the NRL. Also agree that we need the magic combination of home grown and quality players. However, Tetavano is that quality player in a position we are desperate to strengthen. If not him, who else? If we fail to fill this gap the inference is that the club is in financial hole, and one that will require big season ticket and corporate box sales for us to climb out of. People need to be persuaded that the team can be competitive, and that means on the field but also off it. I'll keep renewing my season ticket year after year no matter what, but not everybody is in a position to do that. Signing Tetavano might persuade a few who are on the fence that the entertainment might be worth the expenditure.
Training every day eating the right food it should be easy.
Do you honestly think Lui and Hurrell have the dedication to lose weight at this stage of their career? I need to loose a stone. I train 3x/week, eat mainly a plant based diet. I lost 2lb in 7 months! Just saying it ain't easy, but fair play if they make the change.........

yes they can and should after all its their job. We have had men and women come to our runni g club in their fifties several stones over weight. 6 months later they have loads of weight. One member has lost 6 stone in two years.
