You could look at that two ways. Its less likkely to affect play as much on the halfway, so the ref could either give the pen, knowing that the pen wouldn't directly affect the score, or let it go, thinking that the defence would cover from halfway.

Would he have seen it, given his eyes are likely to have been following the ball rather than looking at what was happening ten yards away?

Yes yes old boy, all Rugby League supporters should see the game from the terraces very even handedly. In fact from now on, when we see one of our respective teams committing the henious crime of a forward pass and getting away with it, we should all instantly try to alert the officials. This of course is exactly what the South Stand committee do.

I love the "Forrrrrrwaaaaaaard" chants against rivals its great, even better when they scream it every pass, mostly so i can shout "Baaaaaaaackwaaaaards or siiiiiiiiiideeeeewaaaaaaards" when we have the ball.

when saints win i would rather win without the ref helping us out. the ref has helped sinfield and whinos in the past 2 games no on can deny that.
