Maybe a solid squad players is what we need. Either way im sure GH and Bluey know a hell of a lot more about the guy and what the squad needs than anyone who posts on a message board.

Dont get me wrong I think we all would like to see a Rhinos side that is British 1 - 17 but the simple matter is it will never happen, not in the next decade or so at least.

Just read a few comments from over in Aus on Leagueunlimited and the general quote's are below:

I think I speak on behalf of all Panthers fans when I say I hope the rumours about his being recruited by us are totally false.

He is very, very average and to slow to be a top class centre.

You guys have some very talented juniors in your outside backs and it is obvious why your management are not inclined to re-sign Brett Delaney who clearly is surplus to requirements.

No you said you would like to see English players in every position - If Bluey and GH gives you what you want we simply wouldnt reach the playoffs if we didnt have players like Buderus, Donald, Kylie, Webb and Ali in our side.

But by you 'been disappointed that we need to sign such a player' obviously indicates you know more than the mangement and coaching staff at the Rhinos....

How so? Im disappointed any side in the SL has to sign average Aussies.

I didn't say the management are wrong to sign them, just that I'm disappointed we have to and we have to have the players you mention to reach the playoffs.

I for one want to see England/GB be a team I can be proud of, and that will only happen if we start producing a bigger pool of English players, replacing promising young homegrown players with average Aussie squad players is not what I want to see any british team doing.

I see yer point mate and i agree with the need for the SL clubs to produce more quality players but it will take time and going on our own homegrown record i think we are well in credit.
If at this moment in time the management see this as a signing that will play a part in our clubs success i'm prepared to back them.
Oh and don't forget just because a few fans call him average and you haven't heard of him doesn't mean it will be an average signing.

This is true, and he probably has better stats than Godden had when he came over.

However, I have to ask, how is that Saints can manage to bring over, 1st Jamie Lyon, and then Matt Gidley. If you are going to make overseas signings you want a good commercial return also, and these are the sort of signings you would think should be made.
