How is Sam a second rate player? He has played 1 season in L1. He is a good proven championship player with pace which is what we need.

With regards to 'wheres the money bates' SG has said on quite a few occasions that they will be looking to get the free/out of contract players in first and then look at players in areas we need to improve. There is loads of time yet, so take your anti bates glasses off and have a bit of patience.

Why do we moan about getting player's on free transfer's, the player's we have signed are all player's that other clubs have tried to re-sign. If the players we signed so far were in contract how much do you think they would cost?

Schemeichel would be at least 750k
Paynter would be at least 500k
Bessone would be around 350k
Lloyd Sam would be about 650k
Collins cost us about 350 - 400k

That's a combined total of 2.6million

I think we've done good business so far, and I think another 2 will come in before the start of the season as we need a defensive midfielder and a striker and I reckon we'll bring in a loan centre back to cover for Paddy.

I agree, people just start massivley over-reacting because its another free signing. I would like us to splash out on 1 or 2 big players but if we don't its no big deal aslong as the quality is there.

Also, with not spending cash on transfers, you can offer that free transfer that bit more in the contract dept. to secure their services.

Hence, why have we picked up a poorer quality free transfer in most of the cases than what was available elsewhere, also free.
