On Hallas no idea whether he'll be fulltime or part time. Nobody has. Depends on what division we're playing in.

Hallas has been improving all the time for us. Will be a good hooker in years to come hopefully.

Heard a rumour James Bentley is signing for Leeds but will be loaned back to us.

If true you have an excellent prospect there, he's been our player of the year by some distance.

I have not seen all reports from U19s largely due to they not been posted. One player I would be keen to see developed further is Harvey Whiteley , he was injured most of last season but has been in good form this season scoring in most of the matches including those that were lost. Originally coached by Rob Burrow when he was in U16s ,noted Rob's influence in his style of play. With Burrow rumoured to be retiring end of season, I know some say Lilley can also deputise at hooker should Parcell get injured , Mac did play him there . However Whiteley is an outright Hooker, I would like to see him given more opportunities...Also what is the point of developing youngsters and nurturing them if you then bring in another player , Bentley ( I admit I am not familiar with how good he is)....we have lost quite a few young hookers that have come through our academy system.. Liam Hood, Robbie Ward, Paul McShane..for me Whitely got potential to be far better than them. He is also consistent in his performances.

Bentley for sure would be an excellent signing very much in the Bateman category and one for the future.

Sorry away, so delayed, what you say here is correct. But there is also now two Australian clubs, who haven't yet made formal offers, but would be tempting. Personally I think once his agents sit back down with Leeds that Hetherington will break the structure to keep, just waiting for that. We can avoid these things though by doing it properly at beginning. As I said previously there is a big difference between what Leeds try to do, what market rate is, and what silly money is. I think Leeds will end up paying a lot more than had they done it correct at the start. Been honest though, and although family friends, I don't think Jack is quite the player some make out. Think there is equals out there.

By the way the £10k offer from Leeds, they do also pay a bonus of £5k on the first appearance after new contract. Just to make the numbers more of a comparison to be fair to Leeds.

It`s a bit of a catch 22 here from what I can see.
At the stage of contract negotiations was Jack Walker thought of as being the best thing since Kevin Sinfield or was he rated just reasonably good?
If it were the latter than yes the offer probably fits in with what would be expected at that age.
It is only since he has come into the first team people are raving about him and I can understand the logic in paying him more to keep him here.
So do we throw big money at the start and he is a flop later or do we wait bide our time and offer him slightly above the going rate in the hope he comes good?
For me it is a tough call to make at that time the contract was offered.

I know he is a friend, but to be honest I said and quite a few others he would be a future first teamer back in the under 16's, so not really a surprise. I get your point though and it is valid. But even without proven, if a player has something potential, you don't pay the sort of wages Leeds initially offer, or you don't get the best.

Had he not played this year, I have no doubt he would be going, and think that is exactly why Leeds did play him, rather than a resource need. Those other offers, especially Wire, who have wanted him since 14, would have still been there.
