Agreed. It's a shame it's not Cas going down with that shower of a stadium. At least Wakey are redeveloping theirs. It's a much better place too imo, it's a city for a start, far nicer.

I've been back working in Wakey city centre for the past 6 weeks and i can confirm the city centre is an absolute sh1thole

Like everywhere it has it's run down areas.. there are plenty of good parts to Wakefield city centre, it has some very nice restaurants and the Trinity shopping area is tidy. It is far better than Castleford town centre, i know both areas very very well.

Best little Tobacconist in West Yorkshire, in Wakey centre.
That’s only time I’ve been …..

I'm hearing Oli Gildart's name on the jungle drums yet again.

The first choice plan supposedly being to have a Gildart/Newman partnership in the centres and Rhyse a permanent fixture in the second row.

Taking with a massive lump of salt, obviously.

Plenty of good restaurants in Wakefield tbh.
And if they can get their act together wrt the Ridings and the planned foodhall it might look better.
As far as retail shops are concerned there`s not much choice unless you shop in Charity shops.
Westgate run is still going strong but not for the faint hearted especially on a Friday and Saturday night and if you are over 40 years old it is not the place for you.

I wasn’t a big fan of his, but I’d have preferred to have kept Sutcliffe in the centres over Gildart any day of the week

I don't think there's any chance here we've already got it covered with Olpherts.

Not a huge fan of Gildart have to say.

Unless we can sign a really good left centre like a Godden or early Delaney, I’d be tempted to leave Martin there as we are more stacked in the second row for players. Although he did his ACL in my view Max Simpson could cement that spot.

We also have a couple of other good young prospects coming through at centre so let’s not block them with a mediocre signing.
