A meh signing or transfer. Couldn't blame Massey wanting a decent pay day at this stage in his career. Can't complain about his commitment to Cas, probably on a modest salary.

Knowing how GH negotiates Massey might have to take a pay cut.

Certainly worth putting some very high figures into the negotiations merely in order to put the price up

But Williams would only ever play for one club in the SL and good on him for his loyalty

He clearly wanted to try his hand in the NRL but also with the blessing of Wigan and he will be back there without a doubt

So looking at it as we are aware:

2021 - Hurrell (OQ M), Martin (OQ), Lui (OQ), Vuniyayawa (OQ), Prior (OQ), L Briscoe, A Sutcliffe, McLelland, Holroyd.

For me A Sutcliffe, McLelland and Holroyd all get new deals. I’d like to think that Prior will want to do another 1 or 2 years at the club with the COVID saga nearing the end.

Martin will be interesting with his partner being pregnant, maybe they will want to go home? With Walters, O’Connor, Gannon, Mellor, Smith, Tetevano, Thompson and Donaldson all at the club. The thing lack most that he gives is goal kicking.

Hurrell jury is out still but with Sutcliffe, Sutcliffe, Newman, Broadbent and Hall there, do we hold one or two of them back for a spot for him in the centres?

Lui would be let go for me, third choice HB when we have cover in that position with Myler and possibly McLelland. No need for a quota spot for cover.

Briscoe again would be let go for me, as we have Tindall, Broadbent and Hall that can cover that position.

Vuniyayawa the jury is still out.

Be interesting to see who out of Lui and Eastmond is playing 6 for us by year end.

I guess who we retain will be impacted on who else is available too. I imagine we are in negotiations with several prospects and the outcome of those will influence who stays and goes from current squad.

If we can’t bring in better players we’ll end up retaining most of this list - we have form on this.

I was thinking Nikoriima or Johnson would be exactly what we need in the halves, but Nikorima has signed on where he is.

Looks like Williams will return to Wigan. Wire may well be on the lookout. It might just be a ruse to increase his value in the NRL by touting him to SL but Johnson might be attracted by a good 3 year offer over here, who knows. Maybe big Ava will put a word in for us!

I’d let Lui, L Briscoe, Vunijyayawa go. Martin is an interesting one as leaves us only with Gale as a kicker. It’ll depend on strategic recruitment. King just isn’t worth an overseas quota. We can get much better from the Uk.

Mclelland gets one last shot for me. I know he’s been unlucky with this latest injury but it’s got to happen for him soon. I think he’d be cheap to retain though.

Hurrell I’m undecided on and can’t judge yet. By mid season we should have a better idea. Can’t fault his attitude at all. He’s also a match winner on his day.

The massey rumour has been rubbished by Craig Harrison. Apparently, we're after 3 quality signings, and 1 back up prop/loose forward.
