Signing Bentley would be a great acquisition by the club, especially from Saints. If that means martin goes then we get another OS spot opened up where we can look around to strengthen in other places

Didn`t he turn Leeds down in favour of Saints?
Thought Bentley was from Bradford might be wrong.

Hes from Leeds we missed him twice as he was at Oulton who we have traditionally taken lots of juniors from before signing for Bradford. Then when he went to Saints I think they were a lot keener than Leeds. I think we thought he wasn't big enough to make it. Top player though in the Bateman mould.

I would think he's on a small contract at Saints signing from Bradford so i expect he'll be after a decent pay rise which i'm sure we can offer that especially with the amount of off contracted players we have this season ending.No idea of how many Saints have off contract.

Will be interesting this one. On the face of it, all things being even, you'd think he'd stay at Saints given their current preminent position in the game, but in order to keep that side together they are going to have to upgrade a lot of young players contracts. If we are ruthless with our off contract players which should have plenty to spend.

I picked him out when playing for Bradford as another Bateman in the making and was hoping we would sign him.
Did I read somewhere we did try to sign him but Saints offered more or was that Walmsley?

We have definitely showed an interest in him previously.

End of the day if we are interested in him now and he wants to play for his hometown club, he can.

If he’s after highest possible contract then maybe not.

I do think he has good aggression. Let’s not also forget that we are stacked for back rowers though and although I can see comparisons to Bateman, he isn’t Bateman.

On the face of it a good fit.
