100% this. I hate the whole P and R is engrained in English sport argument. It isn’t, it’s engrained in football. A sport that for a multitude of reasons rugby league shouldn’t be trying to copy in a number of different ways.

Looks like Austin and thompson have either resigned with us or have contracts elsewhere they’re not on the lost of OOC players tht the rfl release

Austin has at least tried, Thompson is a waste of a OQ spot and always was.

We did try the whole franchise thing for a long time too….

Austin has really tried hard this year, and Thompson is a steady Eddie (at best) but if we are going to go forward we can't waste quota spots. Surely they have found opportunities elsewhere.

Assuming that's right and we retain Martin, but wave a fond farewell to Bodene. That leaves just one quota spot. Really gonna have to nail that one and come up with a couple of excellent quality British players. Tough ask.

Another year for Austin could just indicate they don’t think Sinfield is far away and may only need another year under his belt? If that’s the case he’s tried hard enough for that not to bother me too much.
