Smith didn't exactly poor cold water on the rumour when asked about it. Usually, if there's nothing in it, he says so. So perhaps it is something they're trying to get done.

Might work with Austin he can organise and is busy unlike the enigma Sezer who shows up when he can be arsed.

The beauty of French players is they don't count on the quota, so he'd be a good addition. Not fussed about Fitzgibbon. I'd much rather save our NRL fund for some quality in the spine positions.

While both decent players, i would be massively underwhelmed if Townsend and Goudemand were the best we could come up with, with all this cap space
