What you looking at?....Butt Head!!

So,if we lose to Wigan on friday is the general feeling that Mac will keep his job?

Just asking as heard a few murmers that should we bomb out early in the play offs GH would pull the trigger so would 5th place and falling at the semi final stage be enough to keep him safe?

For the record im happy to see Mac continue.Would just like to see a bit more during the regular season as we all do.

I'd be happy enough to give him another season, particularly given the transition we're in at the moment. I think defensive structures need a lot of work and that's where I'd like to see most improvement next season.

It's hard to know what happens behind the scenes but form in knock-out rugby suggests (to me, and this is pure internetty speculation) the motivational and leadership side is not a problem, he can develop as a coach. If we were to bring somebody else in I'd want to be very sure they were going to be a big improvement.

Off the top of my head, CC record under the current coach is played 10, won 8 lost 2.

Play-off record under the current coach is played 6 won 6 at time of going to press.

We need to get better, but I have no objection to the current coach being given the opportunity to do that.

Celtic, London, Hull, Castleford
Wigan
Wakefield, Salford, Leigh, Wigan
Warrington

Not sure how much credit McDermott should be offered in this regard after the dubious quality of most of the opposition faced. Of the eight wins only Wigan this year came as a surprise albeit a very pleasant one.

He has a very impressive group of players under his control .... that is when they choose to be.

Same coach different group of players another 100% record having never taken London to the Play-Offs.

If the alternative was appointing a James Lowes or a Francis Cummins then I'd also stick with a Brian McDermott.

Cant argue with any of that and i feel the same way.Whatever we think about his ability as a coach, his record is in the comps. is up there with the best.

I don't know if another regular SL season of mediocre performances is really acceptable especially when looked at in depth.
Some of the selections are baffling ,only using 16 players ,failure to rotate ,same weakness's week after week ,using JP for 50/60minutes+ when games are well over and out of our reach ,Mcshane/Lunt issues etc etc.
Having said that again we won the WCC ,got to the CC final but are humiliated (sorry GH not an unlucky 12 minutes) and are again 80minutes away from another GF!!
I thought he did the right thing with Senior ,and was right to take Webb off at Wakey and keep ZH at FB.
He's put Ward and Keinhorst in aswell as giving Hood a taste of SL but again imo ignored others from the U 20's when some 1st team players either were playing poorly of could have done with a rest.
I also think our structures with and without the ball are "5th" standard and at times not even top 8 which is frustrating.
Some big calls to come from GH i do know one thing my ST ££££ is staying put until we know what those calls are gonna be.

Nice bluff but I'm not falling for that one. You'll be handing the money over come what may and you know it.

Every player in our squad could probably earn more money with another club. But they prefer to sacrifice a few extra quid in their back pocket to share special memories. And playing at a place like Old Trafford on a night like this makes it all worthwhile.

Kevin Sinfield

I find myself in the strange juxtaposition of having paid for a season ticket to watch, mostly, very dull, uninspiring and boring rugby league, but having watched the last two very entertaining playoff games on the telly. I'd usually be a guaranteed customer for next year's season ticket as it was a father and son event but the offspring is away at Uni now. I'm, mulling over whether it's worth bothering. The only thing making me consider buying another season ticket right now (and it's certainly not the rugby) is a colleague I sit with is in a similar position and we may go together as a social outing.

There's a lesson to be learned here. If GH learns this lesson Brian Mcdermott will be shown the door, regardless of his record in knockout rugby.

I doubt McDermott will be sacked if we lose on Friday.

In my opinion we need better, our attack and defence is woeful and we rely on individual talent.

You only have to look at Wigan's attack structure in which they can slot numerous players in and still attack well. They execute dummy runners well and make it very difficult for a defence to predict where the ball shall go.

In defence, it is so unreliable and leaky with holes opening very easily.

We need a coach with a bit of technical nous which would recover our defence and attack. I think the quality of players are there, it is just the quality of coaching.

On top of the dull, uninspiring and boring RL on offer... what does a season ticket get you?
13 games for around the price of 11.
Of which 10 are against whipping boy SL rabble... YAWN!
Which leaves 3 of potential interest against genuine competition.
Of which Leeds turn up and can be @rsed in perhaps 1 of those 3 games.
And one key player admits on twitter he doesn't care as Leeds win when it really counts.
I bet he cares this week... whoops... never mind, eh?

No thanks.
Not for me.
