I too would give Austin 2 years unless there`s a better option out there or possibly 2 options for HB .
I wouldn`t retain Sezer and wouldn`t want Roberts either.
Myler is fine at FB and don`t forget we have Hooley even though I`m not at all convinced.
So Austin for 2 years and sign another HB.
Maybe a centre and a forward or two.

I'd be happier with a fast FB and Myler as back up for 1 and 7 before risking Sinfield or Hooley as main back up.

Get what you’re saying but even if he is on big money, we are losing so much cap already , do we need a cheap scrum half ? I hope not

I know plenty on here don’t like sezer and I accept he goes missing a bit but no halfback can do much when trapped in their own end of the pitch for long periods. I appreciate him Austin and Myler are over 30 and there is talk of us signing a full back. I want more pace in the team but do not want Myler playing at 7 next season.

How we transition 1,6 and 7 in next few years will be key.

Agree about McCormack. Looks really good. Hopefully by 2026/27 it's him and Sinfield. In the meantime we need to buy some class. Know what you mean about Sezer too, it's the time he misses with injuries that is the big downside. None of our problems are easy to solve.

Its difficult with the 1,6 and 7 because we've managed to get to a state where they're all right at the back end of their careers at the same time. Sinfield isn't quite ready to step up, so we're going to need to bring someone in or keep more of the spine than we really should.

I'd try to keep Austin, and hope to bring in a class full back and other halfback. Myler is still good on his day, but only at fullback. He's exactly the same as Sutcliffe in the halves - he can play there, but only badly. Given its the last year of his contract he shouldn't get too upset if we sign a fullback and he ends up playing fewer games or maybe starts on the bench.

It would be nice to have a real athlete at fullback, who can add pace to the attack. If we had that I think we could get away with an underwhelming halfback alongside Austin.

Austin has looked better when he isn’t having to be the lone fulcrum of the attack as we are very predictable in attack with one half.

Sezer when fit / assed can be lightning in a bottle for us and really pushes us around the field.
