Yes GH would not pay a fee and would not get in a bidding war with KR for Dupree if Salford need to sell.
Not keen on Townsend as only average and will be 33 by next season
Laurie definitely if not snapped up by another NRL team.Could be better than Jai Field as an attacking full back

Either way I’m expecting some quality additions this off-season given the huge amount of cap space. There should be no excuses. It’s an absolutely huge offseason and will shape how we go the next 3 years

Agree. No excuses for not going big for next year. Needs to be focused on key positions though - no faffing about with expensive wingers and the like.

I believe someone earlier in the thread alluded to signing Charlie Stains. If we got him and Laurie, we would have speed to burn next year. Scary stuff!

It takes a while for big props to get going at te top level , Leeds have left go lads who need to grow into their bodies.
Paul Anderson and Brendan Hill from way back all the way to Mulhern and Dupree and Walters

My reasoning on Townsend is A) It was reported that he has been made available to SL clubs B) When Smith was asked about him a couple of weeks ago there was no denial. In fact his normal poker face slipped a bit. Agree we'd be better shopping for halves in their 20's but with gap between SL and the NRL being as it is, it seems very unlikely that an established half of that age would come.

Anderson and Hill didn’t need to grow into their bodies, opposite was true. Anderson was c*** for us and couldn’t get in the side, went the same at Halifax and was pretty much initially the same at Bradford and on last chance saloon, the 4 sub change of rule and the 4 prop rotation used at Bradford allowed him to kick in s level. Big Brendan was a big dolop who inly looked good 5 yards from try line and his usual good performance against us.
