JC is a great shout, it shows we are actively looking for quality. He’s British aswell so it promotes out game not solely relying on imports. When we got Harris we paid a fortune for him and to him, that worked out for us. Sutcliffe is doing ok at the moment, it’s just the strength of him and Myler together. Tui is a lost cause at 6 for me. I really think we need to push Mclelland through. How did Trueman get to where he is? By getting pushed through. But again is actively shows that our team is nowhere near strong enough anymore.

A huge injury crisis, wasnt it? Powell tends not to play any young players otherwise

Seen enough of Mclelland so far to say he is nowhere near ready for super league yet, he is a project signing still, somebody said Rob Burrow said he needs 12 months just playing back in RL before he can step up to the next level. He is only 18 and been out of RL for a couple is seasons, Truman at Cas has not so it has been easier for him to progress.

According to wiki McLelland is 19 and will be 20 in September. I understand that he might not be ready, but he needs to get experience at open age level this year if he's going to make any impact next year. Otherwise he'll spend next year on DR as well. And lets be honest, he might not be 'ready' but at least there's a chance he might become good enough. Is there realistically any prospect of our alternatives ever being good enough?

This year I understand the focus is on the pack, and we have looked to strengthen there, but our spine is terrible. Not a single lead playmaker amongst whoever gets picked.

I`ve said it before and will say it again Sutcliffe and Myler are not the answer to our HB problems.
I also said that Lilley is a better all round scrum half than Myler which admittedly isn`t saying much but would not have done any worse and would have cost us much less.

He's been coming for the last three years according to some. One thing for certain he didn't come under McDermott and doesn't play under him now.

I hope we don't sign Brierley, he's no better than what we have IMO. Although he obviously has got talent, he didn't exactly set the world alight at Hudds, and now can't get into the Toronto team... I would only sign a halfback who is clearly better than Myler/Sutcliffe.

Not sure there are too many of those around at the moment.

Agreed ,why would we want a halfback who can,tget into a Championship side?
