That's an interesting development, I wonder if any others have options to extend their contracts, such as Ferres, if so it could further limit options for Squad changes. I trust JJB has not got any options in his hands for 2020.

On Parcell, I thought Furner left him and Donaldson on the bench for too long on Monday, he made an impact when he came on

Just read an article saying we have offered Joel Thompson a multi year deal. He’s 31. He might have bags of experience but he is not what we need, we need youth to build back up again I personally think.

Hes well rated by Manley and hes got some size and power to his game. Not ideal he will be 32 when here but youd get 3 good years from him.

I know what you mean regarding age. He’s 30 now so would be 31 when he arrives here. However I think we need more leaders on the field, especially in the pack. 3 years with Merrin and Thompson in the back row could be what the likes of smith and trout need before fully establishing themselves in the future.

Agreed, he'd certainly bring the attitude we'r crying out for, hard as nails. Good all round second rower, good defender, good attacker, regularly plays 80, rarely injured, pretty athletic, he's even played a bit of Centre.

Reading a bit about it, Manley want him to stay, but he wants to experience a new challenge abroad.

Only negative, as mentioned, is his age.

I'd be happy to bring Joel Thompson in for 2 or 3 years got lots of NRL experience and will bring leadership to our pack and will compliment Merrin next year as well and with JJB retiring and possibly the likes of Ferres and maybe even Ablett leaving next year Thompson could be the type of signing we need to help develop the likes of Cam Smith and Owen Trout whilst they are trying to break into the first team, I believe Thompson was at Canberra when Furner was head coach there between 09-13 so He might have had a good relationship with Furner and Furner probably sees him as a player we need.

If we signed him, he'd be 31 by the time he gets here, we need some experience and quality.
