Well, both could be correct. SMTM could look after Walker without charging him a penny and technically they are correct. But I wouldnt be surprised to see that clause in any agreement. We wont charge you but if we lose money you make up the difference. Still they wouldnt be technically charging him as its his decision thats caused it. Still sounds all extremely underhand to me

You were correct with your first sentence. He hasn't done a contract yet with SMTM, this is to be his first one with them. His previous two year deal which ends in October is with a different agent, a Junior contract, and he switched to SMTM in Feb this year specifically to deal with his next contract. SMTM make their contracts also that the wage slides up, and their earnings slide up with it as a result, with particular emphasis on the image rights. That new contract would not start until November this year.

? how could they lose money because of his decision if they don't charge anything?

More about what they get paid from the club signing their player as opposed to Walker himself which in our game I would assume would be a percentage of contract value as opposed to set fees unlike the idiots that run around in football. I'm not in the know about these things but from Walker and them saying no money changes hands between them it surely has to be fees received from the club signing their player, which could be where the signing a 40k contract or 10k contract depending on his agreement with SMTM could be left liable for the difference, and in that instance it isnt them charging but the players own decision costing themselves? Like I say I know nothing about these sort of things just reading the complications around this seems to be how they have him

Sounds like we've just missed out on bentley from Bradford. Another one of them ones that get away like Walmsley.
