The North stand had to be done to retain international cricket at Headingley - so not a vanity project at all. The southstand needed an overhaul it was an embarrassment to the club the state it was in.

I think you're talking about long-term historic stuff whereas I'm referring to the past 18 months since Covid hit.

As for the stadium - when I said vaniity project I mean not that the work didn't need doing but rather that Caddick's bid was favourable because it was a flagship development for both the Caddick company and the Caddick Group (of which Leeds is part).

I'd be very surprised if this comes off. Agar pretty much dismissed the idea a couple of weeks ago, saying Williams wanted to be on the other side of the Pennines.

Yes I agree, I thought it was nailed on he was going to Warrington, but stranger things have happened

Then Carney got a message that Leeds had spoken to him and offered him the same as Wire but pulled out 2 weeks before when it was said he wanted to stay this side of the Pennines.

If Williams did come to Leeds it would be on a short term deal only as we maybe the only club that has some space on the cap. Warrington probably cannot offer him a deal without releasing a major player. Thats not going to happen unless that player finds a club.
