| IMO it shows a lack of professionalism to let this sort of thing play out in public. Neither side can be completely transparent on the details to the press in such a situation, it just creates unnecessary drama.

| Quote ArthurClues="ArthurClues"How can you know that? We will have a least one marquee spot to play with, probably two. What's to say that the club haven't offered Kyle Flanagan a 2 year contract and are waiting for answer? GH is exploring his options, which might involve managing cap space in order to land 2 or 3 players who might make a real difference. Offering a two year contract to a 32 year old half (who tends to play with his leg strapped) might not be the smartest move in those circumstances. I like Austin and over the last month he's been the best six in the league. Over the last 18 months he hasn't. There are two sides to any story and we are only getting one. The club, rightly, are keeping their cards close to their chest.'"
I think we'll be after a top replacement for Sezer, however, not sure I've seen a single rumour for 6 and remain of the view that we'll highly unlikely get a better replacement.

| I would be amazed if we go for Austin to replace Clifford. We need a 7, an organiser. We have Trueman to play the 6 role, we don't need another

| Apparently, Matt Shaw reckons the Levi deal is done. Levi just needs to negotiate his release for next year. Leeds will then prioritise recruiting a full back. The lack of available halves will likely mean Myler will be the 7 for next year.

Just read that, I wouldn't be happy happy with the Myler situation but that would depend on the fullback situation.
There really is a lack of halfbacks about - I would like us to try get Lam fro the leopards but I don't think that would happen in fairness.

I cannot see Lam playing for another team in super league whilst his dad is coaching and would imagine he would go to the NRL if anywhere if a chance came up.
The lack of halves also shows the Austin situation needs resolving now, one way or the other.
By the sounds of it he is really peeved off as negotiations have never even started, which may prompt him to look elsewhere or go back home.

If prioritisng a FB is correct then, Myler as starting 7 for 2024 aside (surely this can't be the case), then Austin must be staying. Unless it's Johnson to 6? With Myler at 7?

Me too but I'm not sure what we can do.
The total lack of halfbacks especially in the NRL will become a bit of a nightmare for a few SL clubs IMO.
Leigh if Lam goes back to the NRL
Hull with Clifford going back
Huddersfield with Faces moving on to Cats
Saints if Dodd goes to the NRL
Salford if Croft goes to the NRL
However the upside might be that some British players get a chance that they might not have had, although there's a lack of decent young halfbacks here too.
Really hope Sinfield makes the grade.
Realistically who could we bring in?

I think that's why releasing Austin when we are releasing Sezer would be a nightmare to replace.
To be fair, I wouldn't be too bothered about Myler at 7 if we had a top class full back and Levi at hooker. Myler's problems in the past have been when he has had Handley at full back or was trying to lead a significantly weakened side around the pitch.
If you stuck Myler at 7 with say Levi at hooker, Austin at 6 and Lawrie at 1 (never seen if he is any good but he is rumoured) then I think he would go ok alongside a strong pack and good outside backs.
