Myler is ok but doesn’t do it for me, Suttys best position is 13, he’s not a 6. Tui needs to be released, he just ain’t cutting it. Ward needs to really consider his playing career, cos 6 games a season ain’t helping at all, JJB needs to announce immediate retirement, Brett ferris as well, I quite like Ablett but the time out isn’t helping. Dwyer is better than Parcell for me, he shows more willing and try’s harder, Parcell isn’t interested anymore. Watkins needs to be dropped altogether and given some more time, he isn’t ready. The wingers need beefing up. Peteru doesn’t offer anything and Singleton is poor. Merrin needs to made Captain and release pressure from Watkins. A coach needs to announced sooner rather than Later, I like Agar as an assistant. There is so much to be done, but will it get done? Or will we cheap it out again and keep scraping by? A club of this Calibre and facilities and money at their disposal and even the Calibre of the players we shouldn’t be in this position. We need to show some pride, grit, determination and want to play for the Jersey not steal a wage.

Cannot believe we'd even be interested in Gale now on the back of practically 2 seasons out....would be a huge risk and not one worth taking IMO...Granted 2 years ago before his injuries struck would have loved to have snared him....but not now...surely even we in our current state are not that mad???

I really do not want to sign Luke Gale. He is completely pants + like someone mentioned he has been injured the last 2 seasons! He'll be even worst!

This is a rumour thread so appreciate you passing on what you have heard. That said..

I still don't buy the Gale stories. You don't sign a player who is still less than half way through rehab for a serious injury having also had one last year. At the very least he can't pass a medical.

Ashurst would seem a possible and is a good worker.

I think both parcell and Dwyer are coming off contract? In which case a hooker would make sense. I hear people talk about the academy hooker but as he hasn't broken into the first team yet I don't think you can rely on him for next year.

As for walker, is he not under contract? I think he is a great young talent but he will be lost in the NRL. So if he wants to go, let him, but get good money for him.

One thing is certain. It's going to be a busy 8 months for the recruitment team.

Injuries apart, his tendency to go missing against tough opposition is well known. And given all our opponents are tough these days, he'd be totally f***ing anonymous. So agree 100%..

I also have the same info from good sources on Gale. From the Cas end they have allowed him to do a deal with Leeds on the basis of them getting their own man to replace him. We had a similar agreement on Clarke though three years back. Gale is a big Leeds fan though and pushed this.

I have been a fan of Ashurst for last couple of years, but I have to be honest, if we backed our own youngsters, you would probably have the same level player in 18 months.

Forget the Thompson one, that is just nonsense, and can’t see that coming from any reliable source. More likely someone down the pub.

Walker does have five offers from NRL. A couple of months back I would have said he was going. Not so sure now, he is a grounded kid and seems to have his head screwed on.
