Injurys aside, Gales exactly the type of half we need. Organizer, kicking game, goal kicker, experience and a fair bit of arrogance, i undersand the injury concerns but talent wise, id take him in a heartbeat. Suprised many wouldnt want him after the crap shoot we'v had at halfback recently. Pair him with McCllelland and we'r good to go imo. Get 3 or 4 year from Gale then hopfully one of Mallison or Anderson, two halfs i rate who are both first year 19's, are ready to take over from him.
On a side note, with the Gale rumours and our reluctance to name a new coach until the end of the year, despite some strong candidates being available now, does anyone think it could be Powell we'r going for?
I agree. Although I believe Anderson is going anyway, couple of clubs after him.
I understand the concerns on injury, me too, but to say he is pants or like Myler is ridiculous. He was MOS two years ago, simply because he was the best player in the comp. A million miles from pants or Myler.
On the coach. Out of interest, I can’t remember as don’t concentrate on history, but doesn’t current Huddersfield coach Woolford have just as impressive record as Smith had before coming to us? Considering the player pool I would possibly suggest better.

Shame about Anderson if he's going, rate the lad, is it looking likely or just a possibility?
Agree on Woolford, he's doing a good job with them after taking over a mess, giving plenty of young lads a go aswel.
Gale is a good player, and I imagine the rumours are credible of us being in for him, but looking at what Hastings and Austin are doing, I honestly think our next 6 should come from the NRL, and we can let Myler and McLelland duke it out at 7.
Lolohea was that attempt at a quality 6 and it hasn't worked.
Because of that error in judgement, we've been playing back rowers at 6 often this year, which isn't helping a struggling side.
Get a decent half back combination in this Leeds side, and we might suddenly look something like.

I agree on your last point. But think it will take a decent 6 and 7, with McLelland brought through, rather than just a 6.
I think it unlikely the club will be able to tackle both 6 and 7 as well as rebuilding the back row in this off season. I would expect a decent game controlling 6 to partner Myler with Tui being moved on or phased out.
McClelland looks useful but is not at the level we need right now. A full season out on loan at a decent level will do him much better than the odd game for us.
I don’t agree with Mclleland being sent out on loan for a full year, he will lose touch with the team. We paid a fee for him so we must now invest our time and nurture him into being a quality halfback. He has definitely got the potential.
I thought Southstander scapegoat Myler was good against London, get him a decent stand off to work alongside him and all will be fine. Also prefer Parcell starting rather than Dwyer running around like a headless chicken at times

Ok, so your options are send him out on loan or keep him at Leeds in the academy. Paying a fee for him does not mean we shouldn't send him on loan. We should do what is right for his long term development.
I think that is a prolonged loan. I don't agree with this dual reg where one week you are at one club and then another you are somewhere else. You obviously prefer the academy route. I have nothing to prove or disprove which is most beneficial.
I do agree though that he has potential. Just not enough for him to be a starter every week next season yet.
