You thought Gibson had a good game defensively?

He was no worse than many others and he certainly wouldn't of warranted a large proportion of the blame had hulls comeback ended in a defeat as you suggested.
Yeaman had a decent match but gibson wasn't the only one to miss him mate nor was he involved in 90% of hulls tries we conceded.
There were "sloppy efforts" all over the park defensively mate not all down to gibson who'd of thought berrigan could charge through peacock?? or burnett get through a gap a double decker bus could of got through on our left side???
And lets not forget burgess' "Andy hay" effort on tickle!!
H e was by no means brilliant but not as bad as you say imho of course.

Is that good or bad? His missed tackle count will make for interesting reading this week.

Yeaman appeared Hull's dangerman to me with Gibson unable to handle him defensively.

I'm sure Gibson's couple of quality handling moments will have masked his deficencies elsewhere though.

I thought he was very weak in defence at Hull and it was notable Sinny spent more time on that side of the field as the game went on. He did have a solid game at Hudds a while back, but Yeaman took him apart. He was unable to dominate in the tackle, I think he should look to going lower than he does, too many flailing arms for me.

Gibson isn't the 1st and won't be the last centre who yeaman"beats" in a game.
I don't think his quality moments did "mask" his defensive problems with yeaman but on the same token the teams defensive errors were not all down to him either.
I'd say on current form burgess is more of a defensive liability than gibson but that's not been pointed out,is that because you rate burgess but not gibson???

Why not ? He's one of the best English centres and only 25. He's bar far Hull's best back, he's getting some decent form back to where he was. I think he'd get even better at Leeds.

Good point well put!!
But in your earlier post you did say had we lost it would of "largely" been down to gibson's performance which i think i've clearly pointed out as harsh and inaccurate.

I'd rather the club wait and see how he goes for the rest of the season.Unless he's outstanding then a 12 month deal at best is what I would offer.

For Leeds to have lost they would have had to score fewer points or Hull would have had to score more. That was a hypothetical situation but had it arisen Yeaman running at Gibson is where I saw it happening most.

As I have said many times previously Gibson for me isn't big enough, quick enough or explosive enough to make a top class centre. We'll see.

Should Leeds extend his deal further then I think it will say much about their recent recruitment and retention policy which IMO has been lacking that of a top line club. The losses of Toopi, Ellis, Scruton and shortly Smith with only Buderus (not a replacement for any of the above) coming in so far leaves the Leeds squad vulnerable.

When Leeds have their first choice seventeen/eighteen available they are still a match for anyone on their day but the squad overall is weaker this season than the last two Championship winning ones.
