And it pains me to see how little faith you have in the reigning SL Champions.

When Leeds won the reverse fixture (62 - 4) after the disappointment of the WCC defeat to Melbourne, they were without Scott Donald, Brett Delaney, Kevin Sinfield, Ian Kirke, Carl Ablett and it was before Lee Smith was added to the squad.

Leeds have a good record in this fixture with 10 wins and a draw from 14 SL Era visits to London/Harlequins.

Some people's pessimism amazes me. Even after the previous years when we've put out simialar squads post mid-season game.

Its a tough game, but our squad is strong enough. the lack of half backs doesn't bother me. Games are generally decided by forwards anyway.

It may be worth giving Webb a game at HB this week just to keep him in the loop, and maybe start McGuire on the bench.

It's my first time going there tbh, my parents went last year and loved it so asked if I fancied a weekend down there.

It's got the makings of a cracking day out, with this and then the football afterwards, let's hope we get two good results and plenty of beer!

Quins away at the stoop is one i try not to miss.Going on the well known NONE rhinos coach/stop over trip.
I think the stoop is one of the nicest venues we visit and the chance for a few bevvies and big screens in the bar there before n after the match is ideal. :CHILL: :CHILL:

Harlequins V Leeds : Sat Jun 05, 2010 9:34 am
Providing all fit...let's give McShane a run out.

Keep Smith out of the centres and keep Ablett in the forwards please.

1.Smith (another chance to make it his own for England's sake if not Leeds' )
2.Donald (great to see him back)
3.Delaney (A 'proper' centre)
4.Senior (Still one of the best in SL esp for releasing his winger - wasted in back row)
5.? (any decent reserve team winger - Bush has potential, but isn't a winger)
6.Webb (By far our best FB at the moment, but what choices do we have here ?)
7.McShane (Obviously our future starting hooker, with Burrow possibly off the bench)
8.Leulai (Back to his best. Some real hard drives and hits against Wakey)
9.Buderus (Banging my head against the proverbial brick wall - BY FAR superior to Diskin. Give him 80 mins/McShane as cover)
10.Bailey (First to admit not always a fan....but now always first choice IMO on the bench at least)
11.JJB (Good enough)
12.Kirke (Not as effective as a prop. Never a world beater but decent enough)
13.Ablett (Sublime touches)

Eastwood (Growing in stature - going to go down as a Leeds legend with time)
Ambler (better than Burgess IMO at the moment)
Pitts (Better than Diskin)
Lautiti (hopefully - still the best on his day) Or Burgess (Needs to step up and improve his defence - still too error prone)

Clarkson (Real promise)
Bush (Maybe a good full back, but BJB and Smith higher in pecking order next season so he will prob move on)

Captain Keith even?

Bush has to play on the wing, unless you put smith there and Bush at FB

This is most definitely NOT the game to drop Diskin for, not with 4 already missing.

Buderus of Senior captain for the game.

If we recall McShane from his loan for this 1 game, can he then go back again after? It would be a waste to recall him for 1 game if he cannot return. Thinking long term it would be best to let McShane stay where he is getting minutes on the pitch.

Maybe. But risk might be too great ?? (Bush at FB I mean...not 'captain Keith' lol). He looked nervous last match he played and I'm sure he would be 'peppered' far too much as the potential weak link at FB. Don't want his confidence shattered too much too soon and he will be far more at risk of that when exposed at the back.

Is there really nobody in reserve grades who might be able to step up for the opportunity of playing outside one of Leeds' legends ? Who plays there at the moment: I believe Bush DOES play FB in the reserve team.
