Are we in some parallel universe where people are actually claiming the last 6 years on the whole haven't been a poorly managed abject failure especially for a club with the embarrassment of riches leeds has?

its all a little "if i don't know what is happening then nothing is" attitude.
I'm pretty sure the club are well aware of what is needed and are doing their best to achieve it. As RS keeps saying, these things do not need to be discussed in public. FWIW I totaly agree with him. All it does putting it in the public arena is cause fan arguments over whether it is a good or poor move and if it all goes t1ts up then blame the club on how poor they are. There are no beifits to the club at this point in the season. Towards season ticket renewals then expect more. Players will all have contracts to play out and their current clubs might not want it releasing yet for their own reasons

I don’t think anyone is saying that, the point is just because we haven’t announced signings yet that things aren’t being done.

Some signings might be being kept back until it is season ticket renewal time, as I keep saying the announcement of signings is a strategic thing and also often not something the club can control, clubs can't and shouldn't announce signings without the consent of all parties, and that could include the club that holds the registration of the player.

I mentioned recruitment over the last decade, not success. I stand by that. You mention Wire as having a couple of rough years. That is true, but it's also true that since 2016 they have finished in the top four in five out of seven years and played in five major finals. We've made the top four once - in 2017. Wire do not represent the apex of SL my any means, but if they are your benchmark their fans have had a better shake year in year out. In terms of announcing signings to coincide with availability of season tickets, it might well be our strategy, but I'm not sure it's an effective one. I'd love to think GH has things already wrapped up and ready to announce but given the voracity of the Aussie media I'd be amazed if anything big remained secret. For the record I do not hate the club or enjoy bashing it. I am worried that things are not going well in terns of recruitment, and I don't think I'm on my own in that.

I don’t think recruitment over the last 7 years has been that bad, not on the playing side anyway, our biggest issues has been neglecting the academy on both the playing and coaching side and I think the appointment of head coaches has been poor.

I believe that os now being rectified and we will see the rewards in the next few years

Agree with your view re the Academy. Happily we are definitely moving forward in that regard but that will require a level of patience before it bears fruit. That's why I think this year is so important in terms of recruitment. Fingers crossed you are right and my fears have no grounds.

Exactly, Smith says everytime he is asked about recruitment, that they talk about recruirtment and retention daily. I doubt they are just sat around doing nothing

There has been some odd signings that haven't worked out, some players that were kept longer than they should have been and errors with the academy but there is signs that we are trying to rectify all these issues, starting with the clear out last year.
