Gale has never been good enough for Leeds. Nevermind after 2 bad injuries. Thankfully now we are releasing some serious cap space, we are now in the market for a proven high quality HB.
Not what I heard. There was a cash+player offer made for Gale but it was bordering on insulting and immediately rejected by Cas.
Though I don’t really know why Leeds would chance a half who hasn’t played for two years and has suffered one of the worst injuries in terms of rehabilitation.
That's not true at all. There wasn't even a cash offer made to Cas.
Cas have a lot of loyalty to Gale and feel they owe him something, because of how good he has been for them. However, like Leeds, they also need to restructure their team, and Gale is a high earner on the cap.
Leeds approached Cas about Gale, and based on the above Cas out of loyalty put the approach to Gale, knowing he is a big a Leeds fan and always wanted to play for them. As far as I was told it was agreed with all party's but only on the condition that Cas actually managed to get their own replacement on their structure. Gale wasn't pushing to leave, and Cas were not pushing him out, and it was Leeds that would have to wait and see, but if all aligned the deal would happen.
I know Cas were after Fages, so who knows perhaps that has changed things. I don't know to be honest, but I still wouldn't be surprised to see Gale at Leeds.

For me Blake Austin which isn`t going to happen followed by Hastings which is a possibility. Does this mean we still keep Lolohea? And if so where would he play ? scrum half possibly.

Albert Goldthorpe Medal 2015, 2016 and 2017. Man of Steel 2017. England half back. 93 try assists across 2015-2017 (find another player with even half that number). Top goal kicker 2015, 2016 and 2017.
The question mark over Gale is his performance in big knock-out games. His only good performance has been the home semi-final against Saints. But to suggest he’s “not good enough for Leeds” is ridiculous.
You’re right about his injuries though. Time will tell if he can perform at the same level he did in 2015-2017.

All rumour and conjecture about what exactly happened, but I think it’s likely an approach was made. It’s a tricky one for everyone isn’t it? I think Leeds would be taking a massive risk. I rate Gale as one of the very best halves I’ve seen at Cas, BUT will he be the same after two serious injuries? I think he will, but you just never know. In Leeds’ position I wouldn’t take the risk. In Cas’ position, if losing Gale meant we could sign Jackson Hastings then I think it would be worth it - a (almost) 31 year old who hasn’t played for two years due to serious injury as opposed to a 23 year old who should be just about coming into his prime is a bit of a no-brainier.
I don't agree with the general motion that Leeds need just a six. They need a six and a seven for me, as I don't think either is good enough to take us forward. I would like to see one of those options be an experience head who can also bring McClelland through.
I want Hastings, but unsure he is a six to be honest, and whether better suited to seven. The perfect one would have been Widdop, but we ballsed up with that one.

We may have dodged a bullet with Widdop as he is getting pretty injury prone himself.
We should be going all out to get Hastings which hopefully I reckon we are
