I’ve read comments from a couple of KR fans that they would need to free up a quota spot to bring Parcell in now?? Don’t know how true that is?

Anyway...back on point....IF it’s only for this season surely young Johnson could provide cover to Dwyer or use someone else there to spell Dwyer like happened v Wakey. Lunt is finished as a top grade hooker...that’s why Hull KR are prepared to get rid.

Lunt is fit and ready to play but that aside, you either want the club to rebuild or you don’t, to rebuild we need salary cap space and more OS quotas, we can only do that by shifting on players and we can only do that with clubs that want them, do I want Lunt as a starting hooker for the next few years, no of course not and I seriously doubt the club do either

Cant believe anyone is thinking Lunt for Parcell has got anything to do with what we think of Lunts ability, its purely an exercise in getting Parcells wages and Quota place off the books, what Lunt does on the field, if anything, is secondary.

They get a decent player we dont want, we get the cap space and quota place for nxt season. Longer term planning, its what we'v been crying out for, this and the Watkins news suggests we'r finally doing it. If Lunt can offer anything atall on the field during the rest of the season...Its a bonus.

If this rumour is true, i see a lot of sense in it.

So which other players could we do with guys?

Joel Thompson reminds me a bit of Chris McKenna. It is interesting we still seem to be looking at the back row with plenty of options there - makes me think there will be some more departures yet, and I’d imagine Ferres definitely done.

We know about Hastings and maybe Maloney, although Wigan supposedly favourites for the former. I’d be happy with either as a step forward.

Hooker is looking like Dwyer/Lunt/Johnson for 2020, maybe.

If we do secure a quality 6, I wouldn’t be too upset running with Myler/McLelland at 7 for next season, although two new halves would be the ideal.

I’m still not sold on our props though. Ava, Mik, Holroyd look solid. The others are a bit meh, and Cuthbertson needs to be released after this year too. One more prop with punch and I’m much happier - we have to get that pack truly competitive if we’re going to build.

There aren’t many players in SL who really fit the bill - is there a big raw thing from the NRL somewhere? Probably Tongan or Kiwi so we don’t rip them away from
Origin ambitions.

I think Albert Vete would be a smart prop signing for a superleague club, not getting a game for Melbourne, but tearing it up for easts. Plenty of meters, trys and offloads. Think he'd be a Garbutt type signing, but with better NRL pedigree. Would be well happy if we could replace cuthbo with him. 6'2 , over 17 st, 26 yold

Yes. I like Cuthbertson as a bloke but aside from his first season, not too excited about what he’s produced on the field for us. Another one of the McD era who needs moving out of the playing squad now.
We have wasted so much time and money on overseas players who end up being squad fillers or injury cursed.
There is a really good Leeds side in the making here if we just get these next few signings right.

Without doubt we should be in for him, he was great for FC a cpl years back and a class above either of our current wingers. Could you imagine a Hurrell - Fonua edge partnership? Are we in the market for wingers tho, I doubt it. I reckon the clubs priorities lie elsewhere at present.

The only current rumours are over second rows (Mellor signed, Westerman, Thompson) and halves. No rumblings elsewhere yet, aside from Parcell for Lunt. That might be because we have to shift some more contracted players first?
