I wouldn't want a young upcoming half back coming into this situation expected to be a saviour, Richardson didn't seen to do a right lot on loan at Leigh earlier in the year?

I'm not sure - he does have a good kicking game. Agree about youngsters but who else really is there that's worth signing for any length of time?
We seem to be struggling for the quota spot we need.
Worst case I'm starting to think we need to play McLelland because he can kick and his defence is pretty good, albeit lacking physicality for open age. Even then it's a huge amount of pressure for anyone.
A battle-hardened NRL halfback would be best but we have got ourselves in a mess.

That would be a million miles from where we are right now. If we are back in for Connor, hopefully we have offered a couple of players as makeweight, including Sutcliffe.

One of the shambolic things about this is just how little interest there has been from other SL clubs in our (sometimes well paid) contracted players.
Aside from the retirees and marquees, I reckon Parcell and Peteru might get a gig somewhere else but most of the rest would be championship-bound on current form.

Richardson is bang average. Even Matty Smith would look competent in this Saints side. Trueman I think is getting overrated. He has a brilliant kicking game but still has a lot to do elsewhere. He is struggling being the leading half in a Cas team with a variety of poor partners. He would release Myler to do a bit more running which he is not quite as bad at as his kicking.

Connor has been mentioned again, but I see him more as a runner again, perhaps in the McGuire mould. We would still need an organiser and positional field kicker.

Connor is a phenomenal, if maverick, talent. He could go well with someone like Trueman. I'm assuming he is tied to a contract at Hull, so it would cost a fortune to prize both away. Not many leave Hull for the money.

I'd say that's fantasy land, however I have heard/read a few things that suggest Connor wants to be permanent Stand Off and he won't get that chance at Hull at the moment with Kelly and Send being preferred in the halves, so you never know!!
