| Quote christopher="christopher"Agreed our pack was actually one of my biggest fears for this season but they have actually gone well IMO (ferris aside). Ava is also going to be a great signing for us I think as well. Of course a half back can look bad when the pack are getting hammered but it takes 2 quit exceptionally bad half backs to make us look worse when we are on the front foot (like last week), having said that I think Myler would look OK with someone like Hastings as the main HB, the problem with Myler is he just isn't good enough to take on the controlling half back role.'"
I actually think Hastings and Lolohea would look better together. Not a fan of Lolohea and still want him out, but as I said previously, I can see a similar pairing to Hastings and Lui in Hastings and Lolohea.

I'm 50/50 on Lolohea, there is a player in there somewhere, his passing game is excellent and he has got a decent step, its just he's not and never will be a controlling half back.
You could be right with a player such as Hastings he could go well.

Not a chance.
Tui isn't good enough.
Hastings and Myler behind this wonderful pack we apparently have is probably the way forward this season if we were to sign Hastings.

| Quote Gotcha="Gotcha"We don't have a jellyfish pack though. People underestimate our pack, Ferres excepted of course. The problem as always been how poop the halfs are.'"
Whilst I will readily agree our pack has started to look better over the last couple of weeks that is akin to saying the dog te I just stepped in isn't quite as smelly as the te I stepped in yesterday.
There is very little fast play of the ball, we rarely win collisions and until recently we couldn't defend our own line in the middle.
Ava looks promising but there is no prop with real bite, most are squad players. The hookers have pace but little control and the second row is a shower at the moment. People slag off Trent but when he goes off it all crumbles in the middle.
Being a hb is fun when you get quick running ball in the opposition's half. It's less fun when it's slow ball deep in your own half.

| The problem with Lolohea in the halfs is that he has to defend in the line and he has been an absolute turnstyle when defending in the line so far for us. He actually seemed a better defender in the NRL than he's looked over here. If he could get his defence improved a little bit, he'd go ok there. Id 100% play him ahead of either of the scrubs playing there at the minute.

Or you could just read what people say in context, instead of going to an extreme. Quite a difference with what is said, and what you are implying is said.

You said the pack isn't as bad as people say yet fans and pundits alike have been saying how poor our pack is all season. They make few breaks, win few collisions and give few fast play of the balls in attack and have leaked so many tries close to the line. How are they not that bad?
As for Tui, most have been calling for him to be run out of town, if his fat 'arris can even run that far yet now you think he is the right man to partner Hastings should he appear.
You have been a proponent of both the bad pack and Tui ain't good enough views previously but it's fine to change your mind. Just don't try and pass it off when someone calls you on it.
Our pack is not good enough. Tui is not good enough. It's just how it is.

You haven’t called me on anything. You have jumped to an extreme, being aggressive for no reason. You don’t seem to realise middle ground.
Your point on the pack is incorrect, by a long way, all backed up by facts. Would I prefer better? Of course. Is it a reason for our problems? Is it hell. Ferres is an issue, but the props do their job far better than given credit, and Merrin has been as good as any forward in super league.
The foundations are there laid by the pack, but the halfs have been horrendous.
As for Lolohea, I actually stated in the very post you jumped to a massive incorrect conclusion on, that I still think he should go. I simply said he would be our best option to partner Hastings. This from the choices we have. I have seen Myler and Sutcliffe fail all year, and don’t believe partnering someone else will change with these. I do think Lolohea would compliment Hastings better. That is not long term.
Like I said, read in the context they are posted, rather than silly point scoring. Because your last sentence, nobody as actually argued on.

| Agree with Gotcha on this. Certainly for the last few weeks the pack have been doing their job.
Against Wigan they consistently got us up field and consistently held Wigan relatively well.
They did get quick play the balls and won plenty of collisions, it’s just our organisation, halves and hooker weren’t good enough to take advantage of them.

| I agree with that. We got into some decent positions on Friday, we just didn't have the talent to utilise it.
