The waiting for Salford to be safe bit was just a suggestion from Craig.

It might be that because of the live cap, he couldn’t join Leeds until after Watkins has gone. Maybe they’ve planned something for Watkins to say good bye next week at HQ and then after that they’ll announce Hastings. So as not to rain on Kallums parade so to speak. I dunno, I’m just speculating. Would be the perfect mid season signing though. Build he team around him next year.

In previous years, no team has gone down with 16 or more, but Hull KR did finish 2nd bottom with 20 points a few years ago, so I think Salford will want at least one more win before allowing Lui and Hastings to leave.

Salford have a far superior points difference to all the clubs below them, that’s as good as another 2 points, Salford are safe.

I do hope we get Hastings in the end, think he’d be good for the club.
If he comes in, do we have to shift an NFT player first?
I wonder if we’ll see Crosby again this year (or ever); but Ward coming back will be a big lift going in to the last rounds. Him in the back row makes the whole pack better balanced.

Whilst I agree with your ward comments I have pretty much lost all faith in his ability to stay fit. I don't think he is a player we can depend on. It's a shame as he is clearly a talented player but injury after injury has to take its toll and it feels like every season he misses half of it.

It doesn't seem like we will see Crosby this year so the club have a tough call to make. I thought he was one of our better players in the qualifiers last year but the front row has moved in this year. I wouldn't be surprised to see them cut him loose if at all possible.

Why hasn’t a statement of intent been released now on plans e.g. recruitment, it should be announced ASAP, because relegation is a huge possibility now. As a big club, we cannot afford that, it would cripple us and take decades to recover. Our management is damn right terrible and so are most of our players. They just don’t look bothered at all. I am so shocked that with a club of this Calibre we have got to this position and I’m sorry but we now have to look at management, we have sacked two coaches and nothing has changed. Also if you weren’t performing at your job eg like us you would either be sacked or told about it. Same should damn well apply to some these wage stealers in our team. Contracts should be ripped up. I’m sorry but we have to be ruthless now.

It's a fair point.

I was watching the saints game last night and thinking, when was the last time they were facing relegation?

I know they haven't had the success we have had in recent years but they are always in the mix. They have gone through periods where the old guard retired/moved on and have seemed to hold their own.

Seems like a model that has eluded us. We seem to be a bit of a boom or bust club.
