Parcell/Lunt swap deal now done. I hope this equates to something cos this seems so stupid. There has to be something extra to come.

Likely to be down the pecking line if George Williams goes to Canberra also.. can see why he'd be available. Just read up on him and he seems to have v good pedigree

The Parcell/Lunt swap is great work. Nobody is saying Lunt is our future 9. This deal frees up a massively valuable overseas spot for either another hooker, or more likely a new half back like Aidan Sezer or Hastings.

It also gets us out of paying a high salary for the next 16 months for someone who is on the outer.

The club has nowhere to move and no cards to play without salary cap and quota spots available.

Shedding Parcell and Lolohea is absolutely the right thing to do in our circumstances, as was making the tough call on Watkins.

If we can get Lui and either Sezer or Hastings, that could well be our season saved right there.

Some people are just determined not to get it.

The Watkins call is a long way from being proved to be the right one & whilst your knocking one out about ditching Parcell it strengthens a relegation rival & weakens us in a pivotal position.
So lets not be declaring who does & who doesn't "get it".

Watkins was good for us and the player. he gets a reward for his service with a move he wanted and he freed up cap space
win win.
parcell has been average for 2 years. no problem him going. it's where he has gone. they stay up and we go down theres trouble.
as it happens I think lunt will be a calming influence, an old head. he will do us until the end of the season

I'm in agreement with Jim - if we don't make some fairly bold moves we'll be dwelling in the bottom reaches of SL for a number of years. We all knew Parcell would be looking to get back to Aus soon, so why try to cling on when we can use his quota spot for someone who could help the rebuild? Similar applies to Watkins and his salary.

If we dont make some bold moves we'll be dwelling in the Championship.

If the rumours of Aidan Sezer are true then I will lift my hat to sir Kev and Co. Lui and Sezer as half backs is an exciting prospect

If we can pull this off then we give ourselves a real fighting chance.
Parcell was on a list Pete Smith referred to right at the start of the season, his move isn’t a real shock.
London are still the real relegation rival, and Wakefield are heading south too - in big trouble if they lose to Hudds. I’m guessing we have a decent relationship with HKR given all the Leeds links there. With 10 games left KS has to do something - this is it.
The club has clearly identified that half back is the current biggest limiting factor and I would agree.
I don’t have a problem with Parcell as a player as such; but he’s not torn up any trees this last couple of years in a struggling pack, and a change is right for both parties.
I hope he goes well at KR and I hope they stay up.
