Gale would be stepping into a team with considerable pressure on its shoulders, likely as not. Not really the environment he'd need to thrive IMO. So a "no" from me.

Good luck to the guy. A shame Leeds didn;t manage to snare him for next season though.
I wonder who we have (if anyone) in the sights for 2020?

Unless more players leave its hard to see us signing much now. Quota's full for a start, and there's no point in signing average players just for the sake of it.
Next year the focus has to be on finding out which of our juniors really has what it takes.

I’d say more of a Barrie McDermott than a JP but we could certainly do with a strong running prop forward

Maloney, Hastings and now looking like Burgess all to other SL clubs next year.
At the risk of repeating what's been said a thousand times, our recruitment in recent years has been appalling. I'm not convinced anythings changed.

I think Maloney was the one we NEEDED. I agree with you on the wants, but just think Maloney was exactly what was required for this club over the next two years, and would have had a bigger effect than any other player. I don't think it was worth going for three years, but two would have been perfect, and think that is probably the reason we lost out to Catalans.

Not bothered about missing out on Burgess at all. Might prove me totally wrong, but I think he's crocked. If he wasn't part of the family, Souths might not have even kept him so long. There are far better props in SL in my opinion, which is why he's missed out on the last couple of international squads.
