1970 - AH YES I REMEMBER IT WELL. CASTLEFORD V WIGAN.
18TH MINUTE, COLIN TYRER (WIGGIN) FIELDED A KICK IN HIS OWN HALF AND PASSED TO KEVIN O'LOUGHLIN IN SUPPORT. A SPLIT SECOND AFTER THE BALL HAD GONE, KEITH HEPWORTH (CASTLEFORD) CAME IN HIGH AND LATE. TYRER CRASHED TO THE FLOOR, BLOOD POURING FROM A FACIAL INJURY, AND WAS CARRIED OFF. TYRER HAD TO UNDERGO EXTENSIVE DENTAL WORK , BUT NOTHING WAS BROKEN.
